CloverFilter Automatic Roll Filters: Compact, Efficient, and Reliable Air Filtration

CloverFilter Automatic Roll Filters: Compact, Efficient, and Reliable Air Filtration
CloverFilter’s automatic roll filters deliver superior performance, combining compact design with long operational autonomy. The innovative construction allows the filter media rolls to occupy just 10-20% of the total filter surface area, depending on filter size. This efficiency is achieved through the compressibility of the filter media and a rational mechanical design, ensuring smaller roll diameters with maximum unwinding capacity, even under demanding conditions.
Construction
CloverFilter automatic roll filters are built for durability and functionality:
- Material: Made entirely of pressed and bent galvanized steel sheets, assembled with steel bolts and rivets for robustness.
- Pre-Assembled Design: Filters are typically delivered fully assembled, ready for installation in ducts or plenums. Upon request, they can be supplied in pre-assembled components for easier transport or specific site requirements.
- Filter Media: Composed of glass fibers (with dust-binding agents) or synthetic fibers, the media is wound on a spool and protected by a cover in the top section of the filter.
- Media Movement: A motor reducer located at the filter’s front bottom drives the media downward. Dirty media is automatically rolled onto a disposable spool at the lower part of the unit for effortless maintenance.
Dimensions
The automatic roll filter is available in 12 standard widths:
- Widths: 540 mm to 2130 mm.
- Heights: Minimum 1000 mm, adjustable in 100 mm increments up to a maximum height of 5000 mm.
- Custom Sizes: Available upon request to meet unique application needs.
Installation
Installing CloverFilter automatic roll filters is simple:
- Preparation: Ensure a level floor and a free space of at least 800 mm for servicing.
- Assembly: Attach sections together and bolt them to the plenum or filter housing with perimetric flanges.
- Electrical Connection: Connect the control box to the drive motor and electrical supply.
- Airflow Direction Options:
- Model FRA: Media rolls upstream (direct airflow).
- Model FRI: Media rolls downstream, with a cover for dirty rolls.
- Horizontal Installation: Possible with appropriate support, ensuring the filtering section remains perpendicular to the airflow.
Special versions are also available, including:
- Model FRM: Fully enclosed, ideal for duct installation or air handling units.
- Model FRT: Includes an additional frame for bag filters or rigid pocket filters for high-efficiency applications.
Principle of Operation
The filter works on the viscous impingement principle:
- The filter media, impregnated with adhesive oil, captures contaminants.
- A pressure switch activates the drive motor when the pressure drop reaches a preset value, unwinding fresh media until a lower pressure drop is achieved.
- Guiding Channels: Side channels ensure smooth media uncoiling.
- Support Grid: A metal grid on the air-leaving side prevents media deformation and ensures an airtight seal between the frame and the media.
Control System
CloverFilter offers two control options for the drive motor:
- Standard Pressure Switch Control: Activates based on pressure drop levels.
- Optional Timer Control: Operates on a preset schedule, ideal for specific installations.
Additional Features:
- Manual Controls: Includes manual stop and media feed options for convenience.
- Safety Mechanisms: A switch prevents complete roll unwinding, ensuring the system never operates without media.
- Signal Light: Alerts operators when the roll is nearing its end.
